Before fully insulating a camper, it's worth putting additional sealant on factory fittings that may just rely on a foam washer or similar. Often, once a conversion is done, it's tricky to get to many areas and a slight leak would never be noticed , yet the damage would be done.
So it's worth and extra 5 minutes to add some preventative measures while the van is bare.
For jobs like this we use a neutral cure scilicone (not the acetic cure ones).
