Setting small short time goals and attaining them can be great way to boost confidence, self-efficacy and eventually mastery. Contrary to popular opinion, it doesn't take 10,000 hours of mastery. For instance, it doesn't require that much time to master how to whistle or play the kazoo or for that matter learn all the flags of the world, world capitals, names of all the countries in the world, periodic table of elements, capitals of all the countries, basic geographic trivia facts etc.

Here I just isolated US State Flags. By repeated learning, it takes ONLY 30 minutes to learn all the US State Flags. Of course, you have to want it to learn. Autotelic, you know.
