Aldous Harding - Sydney - March 4 2020

Although I had seen some of her videos, it was only with the announcement of this tour that I really began taking notice of Aldous Harding. For the past few months I’ve been listening to all of her albums on a regular basis and I’ve become a great admirer. I also read numerous comments about her wonderful live performances and how special it is seeing her on stage. It was indeed an extraordinary night. She and the band reproduced her songs beautifully. And sitting in the front row there was an intimacy which would have been lost further back. I got the impression that Aldous demands almost as much from her audiences as she does from herself. I’m hoping we, the audience, lived up to her expectations that night. I know she lived up to all of ours. Songs recorded:

I deliberately haven’t edited out Aldous’ long, silent pauses between songs. These were as much a part of her performance as the songs themselves. People unable to cope with them should perhaps consider not going to one of her concerts.
