Did you know that brushing your pool walls first is the secret to making your chemicals work better?

When you brush your pool, you're breaking loose algae spores and microorganism that are stuck to your pool's surfaces.

As algae grows on your pool walls and floors, it develops a layer of biofilm that protects it from your chemicals. But once you brush it into the water, your chlorine can actually kill it.

Brushing is especially important before shocking your pool. It'll loosen the algae and get it floating in the water, where the shock can do its job.

When you brush, remember to get the dead zones. These are areas behind ladders and in corners where water doesn't circulate.

Even if you don't see visible algae, regular brushing prevents it from forming. Aim to brush your pool once a week and before you balance your chemistry. Your water will stay cleaner, and you'll use fewer chemicals in the long run.
