I've never been a fan of quickies

Whether it's an adjustment or a prescription description... I like... to take... my time.

Although time really isn't "mine"

Regardless... it's all about anticipation. The build-up. The excitement of suspense.

It's like that scene in Willie Wonka... when the hefty Augustus Gloop gets stuck in the pipe after falling in the chocolate river. Gene Wilder watches with wide eyes as the pressure builds beneath Augustus and says "The suspense is killing me... I hope it lasts"

And that... Is most likely going to be the only quote I'll ever have tattoed on my body. And it's about time to make that appointment BUT FIRST, my friends...

Allow me the pleasure of introducing Lana.

This visit was a bit different, right? Lana is a friend of our patient 2 weeks ago, Zoe Wild. And after "getting a kick" out of her own satisfying spinal scrunching, Zoe immediately reported to Lana that she needs to get adjusted. BC Zoe knew that Lana had been hurting!

So we agreed to do a video and Lana was just... ADORABLE.

Actually, a very close resemblance to a woman with who I once shared unconditional love. One of my first real girlfriends, and the first person to introduce me to the word "energy." In fact, it was her dad's story of "healing a softball-sized tumor on his cat by only using his hands and meditation" that stayed tucked in the back of my mind for nearly a decade until I finally learned about the practice known as Reiki.

Anyway, back to now...

Lana was hurting and she had 2 different issues occurring simultaneously. There's the SI joint, which was properly adjusted and well received. But her coccyx is a mess, and that is a long-term issue and will require an adjustment that I'm technically not allowed to do in the state of Pennsylvania.

However, in the state of PA chiropractors are not allowed to "penetrate any orifice"

That means I also can't release the pterygoid with an intraoral manipulation. A necessary maneuver for some people with TMJ dysfunction.

But in this case... we're talking about a coccyx adjustment

It's called Logan Basic. And the creator of that technique actually started a chiropractic school near St Lewis... which is still operating and growing! It's named Logan University, after the founder.

And IMHO the technique is legit.

In a seemingly related but not scientifically evaluated practice... I once found videos of this old, Amish or Mennonite woman who claimed to have a technique that cures childhood leukemia. She has an impressive case history. She helped MANY children.

And I've seen the Youtube videos. This lady was not operating on the same dimension as you and I.

She actually reminded me of BJ Palmer, who also has a youtube video of himself giving an adjustment in 1920ish.

You guys think I'm dramatic with my suspenders and knee-slapping?

When BJ filmed this adjustment he looked like he was possessed by the ghost of senior prom.

Don't worry I'm going to post it one day.
