Russian channel “Kultura” report on Das Rheingold project
Report of the Russian channel “Kultura” about Das Rheingold project, that happened in June 2021 in the Ural region.
DAS RHEINGOLD Project is a unique project that united artists from Russia and Germany.
On the 16th, 18th and 19th June 2021 Tchaikovsky International Youth Orchestra under the baton of famous Wagner-specialist, Christopher Stöcker performed “Das Rheingold” opera, the first opera of Wagners legendary Ring-cycle. Soloists of the major theatres of Russia and Germany such as Geert Smits, Elena Zhidkova, Oliver Zwarg and many more took part in the project and presented the opera for the audience in Yekaterinburg and Nizny Tagil for the first time ever.
Our goal is to connect two countries and give young talented musicians and singers unique opportunity to work with the best coaches from Germany, learn and perform a monumental piece by “opera revolutionary”, not only composer, but also philosopher Richard Wagner.
DAS RHEINGOLD Project also included a wide additional program with a conference on the climate change topic, interesting excursions and so on.
Organised by: RCCR Projects GmbH, Sverdlovsk Philharmonia. .
The project is a part of Deutschland Jahr 2020/2021 and supported by the Governor of Sverdlovsk oblast ans the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Germany.
