Porphyria Cutanea Tarda (PCT) | USMLE Step 1 Hematology Mnemonic

Porphyria cutanea tarda (PCT) is the most common type of porphyria, and it results from a defective uroporphyrinogen decarboxylase enzyme that is usually the result of a sporadic mutation. Porphyria cutanea tarda has a number of characteristic signs and symptoms, such as elevated uroporphyrin levels, tea-colored urine, and cutaneous findings.
