How to Draft a Symmetrical Cloth Pad Pattern with Any Shape (curves, flare, etc) | Tutorial

In this video I show you how to draft a symmetrical pattern for a cloth menstrual pad from scratch in any shape or size. It doesn't matter if you work in cm or inches - it's the same principle and you can follow along this video tutorial with either system.

I use these dimensions:
- length: 28 cm (approx. 11")
- width: 6.5 cm (approx. 2.5")
- wing base width: 8 cm (approx 3")
- snap to wing tip: 2 cm (approx 0.75")

You can follow along with the same dimensions, or adjust to your preference.

I recommend sewing up one pad using your pattern, trying it out, and deciding whether to change anything, then drafting a new pattern with adjusted measurements and shape until you find a pattern you love, before making lots of pads with your drafted pattern.

Remember that the pattern line is the stitching line and NOT the cutting line! Don't forget to add a seam allowance when cutting your fabric. Alternatively, you can add the seam allowance to the pattern and cut along the pattern line. Just make sure your stitching ends up on the stitching line.
