@KailasRobotics won a CES Innovation Award for their light-weight robotic arm designed for moving platforms complete with an advanced vision and control system with high tech sensors.
Their robotic arm utilizes the Mitsumi MMS101 6-axis Force/Torque Sensor. The world’s smallest 6-axis force sensor weighs only 3 grams with a Φ9.6mm diameter and 9mm height.
The MMS101 is a key component for maintaining stability within the robotic arm allowing precise targeting while the system is in motion such as in drone and humanoid robotics applications.
Since the MMS101 can detect force and torque in three orthogonal axes, it provides crucial feedback such as weight, imbalance, and torque placed on the robot arm.
The Kailas system utilizes EtherCAT Interface for high speed, low latency deterministic behavior allowing direct communication to Mitsumi’s 6 axis force/torque sensor.
