STORYLINE

Cardinals from across the world arrived at Paul VI Hall in the Vatican on Saturday for the end of a two-day meeting of the College of Cardinals.

The cardinals have been discussing, amidst other things, the need for more "collegiality", a by-word for democracy within the church.

The prelates are gathered in Rome for weeklong festivities, highlighted by the papal anniversary, Sunday's beatification of Mother Teresa and the elevation of 30 new cardinals next week.

The pope was expected to address the College of Cardinals later on Saturday.
