Welcome to The Aging Games and today I will share my experience with My Personal Battle with Trigeminal Neuralgia and What Stopped the Pain.

▶️ What is Trigeminal neuralgia:
Trigeminal neuralgia is a chronic pain condition that affects the trigeminal nerve, which carries sensation from your face to your brain, it is sudden and severe facial pain. It's often described as a sharp shooting pain or like having an electric shock in the jaw, teeth or gums.

▶️ Trigeminal neuralgia symptoms:
• It usually affects one side of the face or can affect both sides. But not usually at the same time.
• It usually happens in short, unexpectedly, last from a few seconds to about 2 minutes. The attacks stop as suddenly as they start.
• Pain feels like having an electric shock in the jaw, teeth or gums.
• The pain can be in the teeth, lower jaw, upper jaw or cheek. Less commonly the pain can also be in the forehead or eye.
• After the most severe pain has subsided you may experience a slight ache, burning feeling and a constant throbbing.
• You may experience regular episodes of pain for days, weeks or months at a time.

▶️ Trigeminal neuralgia attack or trigger:
If you have trigeminal neuralgia even mild stimulation of your face such as from brushing your teeth or putting on makeup may trigger a jolt of excruciating pain.

A variety of triggers may set off the pain, including:
• Shaving
• Touching your face
• Eating
• Drinking
• Brushing your teeth
• Talking
• Putting on makeup
• Encountering a breeze
• Smiling
• Washing your face

▶️ Trigeminal neuralgia treatment and Medications:
• Anticonvulsants. Doctors usually prescribe carbamazepine (Tegretol, Carbatrol, others) for trigeminal neuralgia, and it's been shown to be effective in treating the condition. ...
• Antispasmodic agents. ...
• Botox injections
• Surgical options are very invasive, complicated and not guaranteed to work. The surgery to decompress the nerve is not technically brain surgery, but the surgeon must open the skull to perform it.
• Microvascular decompression (MVD) is an operation that can help relieve trigeminal neuralgia pain without intentionally damaging the trigeminal nerve. The procedure relieves the pressure placed on the trigeminal nerve by blood vessels that are touching the nerve or are wrapped around it.

▶️ Natural Trigeminal neuralgia treatment Options that I tried:
• Vitamin B12
• CBD Oil
• Red Light Therapy (Joovv lamp)
• Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT)
• Chiropractic treatments
• Correcting my jaw alignment
