Warriors of China: Episode Four. Shaolin Tournament

Next to the Shaolin Temple are two or three enormous Kung Fu schools that all compete to be favored by the Temple - which selects the best students to enter Shaolin life. The largest is Tagou school which has up to 20,000 Kung Fu students and about 1,000 teachers. We were fortunate enough to be spending two weeks at Shaolin, when a Sanda tournament was arranged between the largest schools. Sanda is free fighting Shaolin style, with almost anything allowed, punches, kicks, grappling and throws with contestants fighting in a ring with a referee.

This episode shows the schools marching proudly into the local town of Dengfeng, to fight each other.
