Hiking on Stuart Island, WA (San Juan Islands)

As part of our long weekend trip north to the San Juan Islands from Seattle, we leave our nice anchorage in Blind Bay on Shaw Island to head NW to Reid Harbour on Stuart Island. Stuart Island is a hidden gem located just a few short miles NW of Roche Harbour on San Juan Island and just east of the Canadian/US border.

Stuart Island has several long hiking trails all accessible from a public dock and dinghy moorage at the end of Reid Harbour, one of which will take you to an old school house, library, treasure chests and finally to a light house with beautiful views of the Strait of Georgia.
