Apocalypto (2006) - Executions Scenes

I remember when this movie came out, there was actually quite a lot backlash at it, mostly
because it was made by Mel Gibson ( i assume) who's private life and some statements
were branded "controversial" or something. I don't really follow it, I can separate art from the artist and judge it as such.

Anyway, the point is - looking at the score on IMDB now scoring exceptionally high 7.8 points, the movie proved itself over time for which I'm glad. I loved everything about it. It had the same feel
of historical accuracy in terms of visuals (how they looked, surroundings etc.), although it was a fictional story. Kinda like the New World (2005), which says a lot. Also excellent acting on everyone's part down to the extras. It might not be a movie for everyone, but for the rest of us, this movie is an achievement!

My favorite part as you might have expected, would be of course the execution scenes, which puts into perspective the barbaric ways and human nature of old, (well, more a reminder, we just have securities in place for this not to happen).
