Collective Conscious

Our 3rd year creative documentary for college. I was inspired by Serial Experiments Lain and the lecture by Terence McKenna titled "Psychedelics in the Age of Intelligent Machines" to pitch and make this documentary. Really, it's something I could make a feature length film on. Our world has become more and more connected in our generation, and continues to do so. The effect that has, and even the knowledge of how it works is something that is beyond most people's every day comprehension and I think we need to stop and think about what it means to us. We are getting closer to becoming a global society thanks to the internet and other forms of communication technology and it is really shaping us in new, and better ways than ever before in history. To me, the internet is this great leveler of things like class, gender, race, etc, and allows a much less filtered, much quicker exchange of ideas and information than even a few decades ago. And it's mind-blowing to just think about it.
Mostly shot on a Canon 550D and assembled from footage found online. This is a non-commercial college project and the source of all of the collected video footage is as follows.
