Go to https://dorsettheatrefestival.org/yp-... to access any supplemental materials referenced during class.
The fourth in a series of instructional videos on playwriting from actress and playwright Heidi Armbruster. Join us from your home for this course designed for middle and high school students to learn the basics of the art form and maybe even write their own play.
Now in its eighth year, the Dorset Theatre Festival Young Playwrights Program is online for the first time ever. We are so pleased to share this resource with everyone even though we cannot visit classrooms this spring.

The Jean E. Miller Young Playwrights Program allows our participating young playwrights a hands-on experience working not only with professional theatre educators, but also professional playwrights and up-and-coming playwrights from top masters degree programs around the country.
We partner with regional schools to host a playwriting competition and mentoring program for children between the ages of 9 and 18. Guest Artists use the art of dramatic writing in theatre to engage children's imaginations, broaden their means of expression, develop a dialogue between the students in various schools and school districts in order to foster a sense of community, and increase their sense of self worth, their literacy skills, and their appreciation for the arts.
