Soyo 2286 LCD Monitor Repair Tutorial

My Soyo 22" MT-NI-DYLM2286 quit working. Black screen but power LED went solid on with video signal. See how to fix a broken monitor in this step by step guide. Seems I had bad bulging electrolytic capacitors. C26, C47, PC6, PC7 and PC17 were all bad looking. The heat sink was missing from video chip. Five purple Hermei caps. Three 1000uF at 16V and two 180uF at 25V. These were in the power supply circuit so the inverters supplying the CFL backlight were not lit. So $7 later it's all fixed and back light blank screen is working properly.
I also had odd problem and I noticed the seat sink was missing from video processing chip. Others have complained of "over heating" problem and I had flickering shaky video. I re-stuck heat sink on chip and works great.
