ESP32 Function Generator with a Raspberry Pi Pico Oscilloscope

This project transforms two popular microcontrollers into a complete, low-cost electronics test bench! 🧪

We're using an ESP32 as a versatile function generator, taking advantage of its built-in Digital-to-Analog Converter (DAC) to produce clean waveforms. The small OLED screen, connected to the ESP32, conveniently shows which signal is currently being generated.

The magic happens when we use a Raspberry Pi Pico as a simple oscilloscope! The Pico's Analog-to-Digital Converter (ADC) reads the signal output by the ESP32. This data is then sent to a computer or tablet and visualized in real-time, allowing us to analyze the waveform we just created.

This is the perfect project for anyone wanting to:

Build their own DIY test equipment.

Learn about DACs (on the ESP32) and ADCs (on the Pico).

Understand the fundamentals of signal generation and data acquisition.

Join us to see how you can create your own signal source and measurement tool with just a couple of microcontrollers!
