Next Megaquake in Japan Will Reach the US, Scientists Say

The next mega-earthquake could hit Japan at any moment. The probability of a magnitude 9 disaster within the next 30 years has now risen to around 90%. But the earthquake isn't the worst part. Minutes later, a tsunami will follow and it could cross the entire Pacific Ocean. The last time this happened in 2011, the waves caused damage as far away as California. This time, the stakes are even higher.
