How to Cast Baby Feet: Real Baby Feet Casting

We love this customer video of a baby feet casting in action. Rachel & Mark decided to cast baby Samuel's feet to create a lasting memory of his newborn months.

"Samuel's first year is going so fast!" says Rachel, "Mum keeps telling me to hold onto these precious moments, and casting his little feet seemed like such a great way to do that."

Rachel and Mark used a Baby Feet Casting Kit from The Edinburgh Casting Studio. They dunked Samuel's feet into alginate casting jelly to make a mould, then poured liquid stone into the mould to make a perfect cast of his feet. They were amazed by the detail of the casts, which showed every little wrinkle in the skin, and the outlines of ten tiny nails.

They have a baby feet casting tip for any new parents who want to try using a home casting kit. "We should maybe have waited until he was asleep as he was a bit wriggly. But we sang songs to get his attention and made a game of it."
