Tutorial on how to repair a very common cause of failure in LCD monitors -- failed capacitors. This monitor is a V7 D22W12 (22" TFT LCD monitor). This particular one was being thrown out because it no longer displayed a picture. When connected to a computer, it would show an image briefly, and then go dark. This is an indication that the power supply for the cathode tube backlight was failing, due to failing capacitors. This is a common problem with cheaper electronics made overseas. Luckily, the fix is easy and cheap -- I spent $1 and about an hour to make the repair.
