Second-placed Cerezo Osaka saw their chances of catching J1 League-leaders Kawasaki Frontale evaporate in this top-of-the-table clash at the Yanmar Stadium Nagai. A cagey first half was broken in the 37th minute when a Yasuto Wakizaka cross was turned into his own net by Cerezo defender Ayumu Seko. Hiroaki Okuno gave the hosts a well-deserved lead, but Brazilian substitute Leandro Damião pounced on a rebound with his first touch and Kaoru Mitoma put the game beyond Cerezo a minute later. Kawasaki are now 14 points clear at the top of the J1 League.
