Chevy Equinox 3.4 Overheating Mystery Solved

Customer had replaced thermostat, water pump and radiator it still overheated. The coolant temp would gradually start to climb the longer it was driven and the engine ran perfect. Pressure tested cooling system hot and cold at rated 15 psi and no leaks and no pressure loss. Removed the radiator to just check it myself even though it was new doesn't mean it's good I did not find any problems with radiator. Pulled the front spark plugs 2, 4 & 6 and #2 spark plug was a little a rusty. Bore scope showed a very clean #2 piston top and dirty #4 and #6 piston top. Pressure test cooling system to 20 psi and after 15 minutes coolant started leaking into #2 cylinder. Bare in mind I did 4 separate block tests with the blue liquid, twice with engine cold and twice with engine hot. The blue test liquid never turned yellow to show exhaust gas in the cooling system. It was insane to find this. It was not the intake gasket leaking. So if you are pulling your hair out because you did everything and it still overheats, pull the spark plugs and bore scope the cylinders while the cooling system is pressured up to 20 psi or better. Hope this helps.
****UPDATE 8/12/21 this vehicle is still being driven everyday since the head gaskets were replaced with no overheating issues.
