Super Mario Bros 2 View-Master Stereoscopic VR Reel

Super Mario Bros 2 View-Master Discs scanned at 6400dpi and translated into stereoscopic virtual reality via Adobe Photoshop and Premiere Pro.

The Super Mario Bros 2 View-Master series consisted of 21 stereographic image pairs on 3 View-Master discs.

Disc 1 contains shots taken on the Super Mario Bros Super Show live action set, featuring Mario (Captain Lou Albano) Luigi (Danny Wells), as well as the Edison and Irradigator characters. The shots do not appear to coincide with any specific episode, suggesting that the photos were taken specifically for the View-Master reels. More research is needed to confirm this.

Discs 2 and 3 contain a series of image that make up the plot of Super Mario Bros Super Show Episode 1: The Bird! The Bird! While the plot is the same, the visuals were redrawn, presumably to work in stereoscopic 3D. More research is needed to confirm. Interestingly, King Koopa was redrawn to look like Wart from Super Mario Bros 2, but the Image descriptions still refer to him as King Koopa.
