Surveyor Cadet SC180 Camper For Sale (SOLD)

FOR SALE: SOLD...SOLD...SOLD
Video will remain for the information provided about this great camper.
2013 Surveyor Cadet SC-189 (Forest River)

This is a 27 minute video that shows our camper in detail.

I purchased this camper from the original owner in December 2018 (a year ago). It had only been slept in 12 nights! From what I observed…I believed what he was saying. There was not a scratch or nick anywhere and still smelled new. It had also spent its life inside an enclosed barn. No sun fade.

We purchased it, brought it home started doing a couple of upgrades that we thought were necessary. We are long time campers and know how important little things can be…big things too! We started with 5 new Goodyear Endurance trailer tires (D rated), shower mods to prevent water from splashing and spraying out to the floor, new Oxygenics shower head and hose, 12 volt voltage monitor with 2 USB charging ports and 12 volt accessory outlet, TV and wall bracket and a weight distribution hitch with anti-sway feature. I tried to take a couple of naps but the original mattress was very firm and was crazy heavy. We removed it and replaced it with a memory foam mattress with an additional 3” memory foam topper…it now sleeps like a dream! The lighter mattress also allowed easier access to the storage under the bed

The double bowl kitchen sink is nice. I built a pair of sink covers for it. The bottom side can also be used as a cutting board…so could the tops but I wouldn’t want to mess that up. Also built a cover/top for the 3 burner range. This allows for more counter space when the stove is not being used. Towel bars and hanging hooks were added to the bathroom door.
I found that the HVAC controls did not work properly so I purchased a new (also latest version) digital thermostat and control box (this goes inside the A/C unit…the brain).

From a construction standpoint… What is special about this camper is the all-aluminum wall and roof structure. There is also aluminum framing around all doors, windows, appliance access panels and slide out. There is NO WOOD in the physical structure. The outside fiberglass walls are perfect and the rounded EPDM roof is great. That rounded roof makes it stronger and completely eliminates any water from standing on the roof!

Having a tandem axle setup on a 21’ long trailer is not a common thing. This allows for much better weight distribution, safety and a much smoother ride! Dry weight is 3,700 lbs with a crazy payload of 3,622 lbs! Payload is all the stuff you carry including water, LP and the battery. Honestly…I don’t know how you would get 3,622 lbs of gear in this…unless you were carrying lead blocks! Bottom line, super strong frame and EZ-Lube axles. The bearings and seals were also replaced when the new tires were added. Just a preventative measure. All four electric brakes were inspected and adjusted.

Reason for selling… We thought we wanted to go plush and fluffy with our camping but quickly realized that it was not going to meet our needs long term. We enjoy off-road exploration and camping so this was not the best camper for our needs. We hate to see it go…since it is as NEW. When you see it you will agree!
