Alex Batty tells of his extraordinary escape in first ever interview

Missing teen Alex Batty turned his back on a hippy lifestyle when he hatched Le Great Escape from a rented home in the French Pyrenees after yearning to be a normal teen.

He walked out on mum Melanie, 43, and grandad David, 64, and trekked for 22 miles over two days.

A delivery driver spotted Alex at 3am and stopped. The driver then took Alex to a police station.

Now, back in the UK and living with his grandmother, Alex has spoken out for the first time in an exclusive interview with The Sun.

Here, he discusses his life during the six years he was missing, his great escape and why he decided to return to the UK.
