Where Did The Antarctic Sea Ice Go?

In 2022 and 2023 the sea ice inthe Antarctic has declined significantly to the point where during the peak of the Antarctic summer it is down by about 40% from the long-term average for that time of year. Climate models suggest that this loss of Antarctic sea ice could speed up the melting of the West Antarctic Ice Shelf causing sea-levels to rise by as much as 3.3 meters.
