La Vida Breve (Manuel de Falla) - Davisson Guitar Duo

La Vida Breve (Life is Short or The Brief Life) is a short, two-act opera by Spanish composer Manuel de Falla (1876-1946) to an original libretto by Carlos Fernández-Shaw. Composed in 1904, it was first performed in Nice on April 1, 1913. Although the complete hour-long opera is rarely performed today, its dances are played often and the Danza Española No. 1 or Spanish Dance No. 1, in particular, has been arranged for a variety of different instrumental combinations.

Here the Davisson Duo plays an arrangement of Falla’s Spanish Dance No. 1 for two guitars by Emilio Pujol. Elle (at age 10) and Jack (at age 13) were the opening act for Grammy winner David Russell in a concert presented by the South Bay Guitar Society.

Filmed at the Trianon Theatre on March 3, 2018 by Dimitrios Douros of DNWorks Films.

The Davisson Duo is comprised of classical guitarists Elle (age 12) and Jack (age 15). Jack and Elle study at the California Conservatory of Music and play guitars by American Luthier Glenn Canin.

Jack and Elle are part of the next generation of classical musicians striving to keep classical music alive and well. If you enjoyed this video, please like, comment, share and subscribe to their channel here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCVW9eAU8FBnsfyNsdl7I9DQ/?sub_confirmation=1
