GTA V Roleplay, specifically on the No Pixel server, became a phenomenon on Twitch in March 2019.

GTA RP has always had a scene on Twitch, and was most well known from Lirik's stream. However, Twitch saw an explosion of viewers and streamers interested in GTA RP after Summit1G joined and streamed on No Pixel in early March.

A combination of popular streamers and established GTA RP streamers roamed the streets of the modded GTA V city on No Pixel's roleplay server and created refreshing and entertaining content.

Although there are plenty of reasons for GTA RP's success, I believe that an overarching reason is due to the role that immersion plays in entertainment. In this video, we explore not only GTA V's success, but also the individual components of immersion.
