Relitto Corvetta italiana (C20 Gazzella - Gazelle wreck)

08/10/14. Nel Golfo dell'Asinara, ci immergiamo sul relitto di una Corvetta italiana affondata nell'agosto del 1943, supportati dal Batrakos Diving. Le corvette della classe Gabbiano furono costruite durante il secondo conflitto mondiale. Navi molto versatili, Queste unità dotate di ecogoniometro e di un potente armamento si rivelarono le migliori e le più moderne tra le navi della Regia Marina. La loro realizzazione venne assegnata a vari cantieri nazionali. Il Gazzella, apprtenente alla serie "Antilope" venne costruito nei cantieri "OTO" di Livorno. La propulsione, oltre ai motori diesel per la marcia normale, prevedeva due motori elettrici per la marcia silenziosa per consentire alle unità, durante la caccia ai sommergibili, di eseguire la ricerca nella quasi totale assenza di vibrazioni e di sorgenti rumorose rendendo così più facile avvicinarsi all'obbiettivo senza essere scoperti. 10.08.14.
