What are some dos and don'ts regarding vulvavaginal itching?

• Do NOT scratch the itch as this can exacerbate the problem and can result in increase swelling and discomfort.
• Do NOT engage in sexual contact if you're concerned you have a contagious disease.
• Do NOT self diagnose as you might have a more serious problem that should be evaluated.
• Do consult with your gyn provider for a proper evaluation and treatment as indicated
• Do try to remove the irritant as soon as possible if you're aware of what it is.
• Try to wear Non‐irritating fabrics and cotton undergarments -- these are gentler on the vulva area.
• And you can certainly alleviate the symptom of itching with some over-the-counter products such as an anti-itch crème or a wipe, but they won't treat the underlying cause if it's an infection. But they will alleviate your symptoms.
