US official supports India on Galwan Clash, says China took undue advantage of COVID-19 pandemic

The United States has backed India's position that the Galwan Clash was provoked by the Chinese troops, who resorted to undue aggression over the border dispute amid the standoff. David Stillwell, Assistant Secretary for East Asian and Pacific Affairs, made the remark that Beijing took advantage of the world and India being distracted by COVID-19 pandemic to advance its border agenda. He added, that the Trump Administration is monitoring the situation very closely to ensure no further military escalation happens in the Indo-China dispute. India has received support world over, in particular, from the US which has condemned Chinese action in Galwan Valley.
