Chopper 1 Splitting Axe

The Chopper 1 Splitting Axe. I have seen these online but never in person. A friend of mine found one at a yard sale and gave it to me for Christmas this past year.

I planned on hanging it on the wall of the cabin but wanted to get a video of it in action first.

You will see in the video the wedge is not right. It was already there when I got it. If I was going to keep on using it I would remove the wedge and install a proper one.

My overall impression of this axe is that its heavy. I'm used to my Fiskars which are much lighter. It works fine on straight grain wood but and things with a twist it struggled. This wood has been dead for several years so I'm not sure if it would have worked better in more lively wood.

All in all its not a bad splitter I just think there are better options at this price point.

Sorry for being away for so long. I had a system board crash on my laptop and it look my hard drive with it... took me a while to get everything back into working order... I have another video from this past weekend that I'll post in the next couple of days. This time of year is always busy with family so it will be sporadic for a while...
