DELL LATITUDE 7400 2 IN 1 KEYBOARD REPLACEMENT GUIDE STEP BY STEP 2026

⚠️ First thing (important)

This laptop is not easy:
👉 Keyboard is under the motherboard
👉 You must open almost the whole laptop

🔧 STEP-BY-STEP (EASY WORDS)
1. Power Off & Open Back
Shut down laptop
Remove charger
Open bottom cover
2. Disconnect Battery
Unplug battery cable
Remove battery

👉 Always do this first for safety

3. Remove Internal Parts

You must remove these parts one by one:

SSD
WiFi card
Fan
Speakers
Heatsink
Motherboard

👉 Yes bro, motherboard must come out 😅

4. Remove Keyboard Cables

Now you will see cables stuck on keyboard:

Keyboard cable
Backlight cable
Touchpad cable
Small board cables

👉 Gently peel them off (don’t pull hard)

5. Remove Screws
There are about 40 small screws holding keyboard
Some are hidden under tape/foil

👉 You must peel tape to see screws

6. Take Out Old Keyboard
After removing screws → lift keyboard
Remove it from frame
7. Install New Keyboard
Place new keyboard in same position
Put back all screws (~40)
Reconnect all cables
8. Reassemble Laptop

Put everything back in reverse order:

Motherboard
Fan & heatsink
Battery
SSD + WiFi
Close back cover
9. Test
Turn ON laptop
Check all keys + backlight
