We'll just say it: for the most part, banking in Europe is a pain for non-residents.
Offshore banks want tons of documentation, ask a lot of questions, want a connection to the country, and require higher minimums and fees for what you can get elsewhere for less.
While Europe does have some good banks, the idea of basic transactional banking in Switzerland or Liechtenstein or London has become more difficult than competitive jurisdictions.
