On the first day of this year, a major reshuffle in the Punjab Police, Lahore Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Omar Sheikh was removed from his post.
According to the notification issued by the Punjab government, Omar Sheikh of Grade 20 has been posted as Deputy Inspector General of Police / Deputy Commandant Punjab Constabulary Farooqabad. According to the notification, Ghulam Muhammad Dogar has been posted as CCPO Lahore in his place.
It may be recalled that Ghulam Muhammad Dogar RPO has been living in Faisalabad. Ghulam Mehmood Dogar also remained DIG Technical Procurement.
The former CCPO Lahore has been embroiled in controversy with senior officers due to his differences with his subordinates and inappropriate attitudes and statements. Omar Sheikh was in the news when Inam Ghani was appointed IG in place of former Inspector General (IG) Punjab Shoaib Dastgir on September 9 last year due to differences with him.
