What is racism, really? And how do we end it? | brother jeff S. Fard | TEDxMileHigh

We all know that racism is a HUGE problem around the world. But have you ever thought critically about where racism comes from & how it differs from culture to culture? Drawing on lessons from hundreds of interviews, Brother Jeff offers 4 steps to get from racism to eracism in your own life. A native of Northeast Denver, Jeff S. Fard, better known as brother jeff, is a multimedia journalist, historian, and community organizer. In 1994, he founded brother jeff’s Cultural Center, located in the historic Five Points District in Northeast Denver. He speaks to communities around the country about cultural identity, history, diversity, self-empowerment, community building, economic development, health disparities, and the uniting power of art. He is also the publisher and editor of the award-winning monthly publication, 5 STAR NEWS. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
