STORIA E CONOSCENZA DI NIVADA GRENCHEN

Gli orologi Nivada Grenchen sono nel settore dell'orologeria dal 1926, anno in cui Jacob Schneider li creò per la prima volta a Granges (Grenchen).
Nel 1976, suo figlio Max rilevò l'azienda.
Nel 1930, Nivada Grenchen è stata una delle prime aziende a produrre orologi automatici. Ciò ha portato alla creazione del primo orologio automatico impermeabile di Nivada Grenchen chiamato Antarctic nel 1950. L'orologio è stato indossato dai membri del Deep Freeze 1 della Marina americana durante la loro spedizione al Polo Sud dal 1955 al 1956.
Da allora, Nivada Grenchen è diventata famosa per le prestazioni robuste e affidabili del suo Antarctic in condizioni estreme.
Nel 1961, l'azienda lanciò il Chronomaster, un cronografo impermeabile fino a 200 metri. Aveva tre collezioni distinte, vale a dire: Chronomaster, Aviator e Sea Diver.
Nel 1964, Nivada Grenchen lanciò un altro segnatempo rivoluzionario: questa volta, un orologio da sub chiamato Depthomatic. È stato il primo orologio subacqueo con indicatore di profondità o batimetro. Un anno dopo, un altro orologio subacqueo è stato introdotto con il modello Depthmaster: un orologio subacqueo in grado di resistere a una pressione di 100 ATM o 1000 metri.
Il Nivada Grenchen Chronomaster fu un successo tanto che la sua produzione durò fino alla fine del 1970.
Nel 2018, il marchio Nivada Grenchen è rinato con i suoi due modelli iconici all'avanguardia: il Chronomaster Aviator Sea Diver e l'Antarctic.

REVIVING THE GLORY OF NIVADA GRENCHEN

Nivada Grenchen timepieces have been in the watchmaking industry since 1926, the year when Jacob Schneider first created it in Granges (Grenchen). In 1976, his son Max took over the business. In the United States of America (USA), the Croton Company distributed all Nivada Grenchen watches. The timepieces can have either the Nivada Grenchen or Croton signature, or both.

In 1930, Nivada Grenchen was one of the first companies to manufacture automatic watches. This led to the creation of Nivada Grenchen’s first waterproof automatic watch called the Antarctic in 1950. The watch was worn by the members of the American Navy’s Deep Freeze 1 during their expedition to the South Pole from 1955 to 1956.

Since then, Nivada Grenchen has become known for its Antarctic’s robust and reliable performance in extreme conditions. In 1961, the company launched the Chronomaster – a waterproof chronograph up to 200 meters. It had three distinct collections, namely: Chronomaster, Aviator, and Sea Diver.

In 1964, Nivada Grenchen released another breakthrough timepiece – this time, a diver’s watch called Depthomatic. It was the first diver watch with a depth indicator or bathymeter. A year later, another diving timepiece was introduced under the Depthmaster model – a dive watch that could withstand a pressure of 100 ATM or 1000 meters.

The Nivada Grenchen Chronomaster was a success that its production lasted until the end of 1970.

Since then, Nivada Grenchen has become known for its Antarctic’s robust and reliable performance in extreme conditions.

In 2018, the Nivada Grenchen brand was rebirthed with its two iconic models at the forefront—the Chronomaster Aviator Sea Diver and the Antarctic.
