My First Airplane Cost Less Per Hour Than A Rental

http://www.swaynemartin.com/ Think owning or leasing your own airplane is impossible?... Especially if you're a young pilot? It isn't. Here's a video to prove it. Four of us pay $170 per year for insurance, split a hangar fee, and pay $50 per hour (dry) to lease this 1968 C172i. That rounds out to about $80 or $85 per hour with gas. Plus, the management company takes care of scheduled maintenance!

Good opportunities can be hard to find, but dig deep and keep looking because they're not impossible to stumble upon. I made it work on a college budget and it's been one of the best choices I've made at the University of North Dakota.
