1993 250cc Season Review | Round 1, Australia

More than the 500cc class, the 1993 250cc season, rebranded as GP2 for that year, was one of the single most exciting seasons of motorcycle racing ever to grace our living room TVs. '93 had all the makings of a Hollywood movie, newcomers fighting with the old guard, multiple manufacturers with competitive bikes, tragedy in the paddock, and a title fight that would go down to the wire. So join me, as I recap the truly incredible 250 season of 1993.

I couldn't have made this video without a massive amount of help from reddit user /u/r2lim. Not only did he introduce me to the incredible 1993 season, he provided archival race footage for me to use in this video, and aided me in the creation of Japanese subtitles for this and other videos. Thank you so much!

For those wondering why I've used Japanese race footage, it's mostly to avoid having the video taken down. I've seen on YouTube and other sites how quick Dorna can be to take down any unauthorized MotoGP videos. I'm not copyright expert so I'm not sure if this qualifies as fair use or not. I'm hopeful that using Japanese footage means this video is more likely to stay on YouTube. Plus, it gives it a certain ~A E S T H E T I C~.

So please, enjoy the video, and leave a comment if you had fun, or if you hated it. I'd like to do the whole season in this format, but only if this video gets a significant response.
