To create a drop-down list in a cell in Excel, you can do the following:

Type list items: In a new worksheet, type the items that will appear in the drop-down list. 

Select cell: Choose the cell where the drop-down list will appear. 

**Select **: Data Validation** Go to the Data tab on the Ribbon, then select Data Validation. 

**Select **: List** In the Settings tab, select List in the Allow box. 

Select list range: In the Source box, select the list range. 

Check options: Check the In-cell dropdown box. You can also check the Ignore blank box to allow users to leave the cell empty. 

Add input message: To display a message when the cell is selected, check the Show input message when cell is selected box. 

Add error alert: To display a message when an invalid entry is made, check the Show error alert after invalid data is entered box. 

Select style: Choose an option from the Style box
