Did god have a wife? Before the Bible was written, before Israel was formed, the Israelite religion had many local variations, but some had a consistent theme on how they worshipped which is much different than today. Who was the asherah goddess? Did she marry yhwh? Why isn't this mentioned in the Old Testament or in Christianity? And is there a connection with the asherah pole?
