Flight Safety: FAA Air Traffic Control Investments and Hiring Targets

The FAA last month reduced its air traffic controller hiring targets. The agency says it will need about 2,000 fewer controllers than previously estimated as it works to modernize the workforce and improve efficiency. The FAA has been dealing with a long-term controller shortage. Alexa Lorenzo from WFTV spoke with Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy about the new targets and plans to bring $40 million in upgrades to modernize the air traffic system at Orlando International Airport.
