M S Subbulakshmi at Festival of India, Moscow, 1988

Celebrated doyenne of South Indian Carnatic music, M S Subbulakshmi, was invited to perform at the inauguration of the Festival of India at Moscow (former USSR) in 1988. Following the phenomenal success of this festival, a full-fledged Indian Cultural Centre was inaugurated in Moscow the following year. Mrs. Subbulakshmi was accompanied by
