8th WIF 2023: International Tax Track
The international tax reforms adopted in the context of the G20-BEPS process are marking historical changes in the taxation of foreign income of multinationals. This is not without effects on international investment.
Most prominently, the introduction of a global minimum tax will limit the use of tax incentives to attract foreign investment. Profit-based tax incentives such as corporate income tax reductions and tax holidays are part of the standard investment promotion toolkit in many developing countries.
It is high time for the investment and tax communities to sit together:
➡️ To understand the implications of the tax reforms on FDI; and
➡️ To collectively engage on how to respond to the tax reforms to maximize sustainable investment.
To this end, UNCTAD Word Investment Forum will convene in Abu Dhabi the top experts worldwide from the tax and investment communities, with two dedicated events:
- International Tax Reforms and Sustainable Investments (19 October, 15.30))
- Policy implications of tax reforms on Investment Promotion Agencies (IPAs) and Special Economic Zones (SEZs) (20 October, 08.30)
Join us and thousands of other participants – including Heads of States, Ministers, CEOs and Heads of International Organization – in Abu Dhabi, 16-20 October. Register here https://indico.un.org/event/1004992/
