Here's what I did:

1. Normalized speed & pitch.
2. Equalized.
3. Corrected the phase.
4. Split the mix into vocals and music, applied volume automation and upscaling to both.
5. Mixed in drums (using sidechain).
6. Reconstructed the beginning of the intro, extended the ending.

As a reference I used the "Golden earring - Twilight zone", I thought it sounded a bit similar. I also used the "Ghostbusters (Maxi)" song to determine the equalizer settings that would compensate for the frequency distortion of the FM station and tape. Then I applied the appropriate EQ to TMMSOTI.
