Goudplevier (Golden Plover)

Fighting, quarrelsome, combative - none of these terms fits the behavior of the Golden Plover. On the contrary, in describing their qualities characteristics like peaceful, social, joyful seem to be more appropriate.
Often in large groups and frequently in company of lapwings, they cover grasslands and shallow waters with a golden floodlight.
