Wednesday, September 22, 2021, 8-10 AM ET. On July 1, the NCAA adopted a landmark policy that deregulated amateurism and allowed student-athletes to profit from their name, image and likeness (NIL). Without federal law to provide overarching guidance, there is a competitive imbalance across NCAA institutions in all 50 states. In this uncertain environment, a new generation of student-athletes are navigating the NIL policy patchwork to follow their dreams, and the University of Arizona debuted the ArizonaEdge program to support them.
During this session, a core panel discusses the impacts of NIL on institutions, student-athletes, industry, and discuss why a federal policy is imperative to ensuring equitable opportunities for college athletes. Panelists include:
Matt Muehlebach- PAC12 Broadcaster
Jim Cavale- Founder & CEO, INFNCR, Inc. and Chief Innovation Officer, Teamworks, Inc.
Tommy Lloyd- Head Coach, University of Arizona Men's Basketball
Jason Ranne- Chief Operating Officer and Vice President, Wasserman Sports Agency
Sam Thomas- Student Athlete, University of Arizona Women's Basketball
