Joe Biden was elected as a ‘president from a basement’

Former White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany says she’s “not surprised” Joe Biden’s approval rating has dropped following the Afghanistan crisis because voters elected a “president from a basement”.

Kayleigh McEnany and Fox News host Pete Hesgseth were discussing a recent poll carried out by NPR/ PBS News hour and Marist.

The poll showed President Biden’s approval rating had dropped from 49 per cent to 43 per cent in the month of August.

“It doesn’t surprise me because we elected a president from a basement,” Ms McEnany told Fox News.

“We elected someone without any real scrutiny who had by the way a horrible record in foreign policy.

“We’ve all heard the gates quote about him be wrong on every major foreign policy decision.

“All of a sudden his poll numbers are tanking there – crime, immigration, you name it. And then with the Afghanistan withdrawal which I think just crystalised in everyone’s mind how incompetent, how much of a buffoon this president actually is.”
