The Most Influential Timex Watch of the '90s: A Nostalgic Gem
The Timex Datalink is a line of wristwatches produced by Timex in collaboration with Microsoft. One of the notable models is the Timex Datalink 150, which was introduced in the mid-1990s. The distinctive feature of these watches is their ability to receive data from a computer via a special optical sensor.
The watch's display is capable of presenting simple data, such as phone numbers, appointments, and reminders. Users could transfer information from their computer to the watch by holding it up to the computer monitor. This was achieved through a technology called "Data Link," using a series of flashing patterns on the screen that the watch could interpret.
While the Timex Datalink watches were innovative for their time, they belong to an earlier era of smartwatches and are not as advanced as contemporary smartwatches that offer more extensive features and connectivity options.
